Joahn Webb began her professional career as a Grace Del Marco model after graduating from the Ophelia De Vore School of Charm in NewYork City. Joahn was one of Grace Del Marco models that was instrumental in crossing the advertising color line. Joahn’s modeling ads appeared in major magazines, New York’s Daily News paper and more.
Joahn’s acting training began at the Negro Ensemble Company (NEC), NYC. After expanding her training at repertoire companies, workshops and off- Broadway productions, she moved to Los Angeles and continued training and performing in community theaters. She has performed in more than 60 productions from New York to Los Angeles. Joahn was honored with an NAACP Image Award nomination for her performance in Theodore Wilson's play, "The Book of the Crazy African”. As a member of Towne Street Theatre, Los Angeles, California, she has appeared in many of their productions.
Joahn distinguished herself as a publicist with her long association as a Board member of the Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP. As Director of Press and Publicity, she managed the press for several NAACP Image Awards Programs and wrote articles for their souvenir journals. Joahn also wrote an extensive article on an Annual Image Award Program for the national NAACP Crisis Magazine. Joahn is an original member of the NAACP Theater Awards Committee and one of the founders of the Theatre Awards. Her article on the journey of the Theater Awards from its original inception as part of the NAACP Image Awards to it becoming the prestigious Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP Theatre Awards Program. published in a Theater Awards souvenir journal. Her partnership with W/W & Associates was a full-service public relations company, specializing in event coordination and entertainment public relations.
Joahn has also served on the Board of the Black Public Relations Society (BPRS), Women in Theatre and Black Women in Theatre.
